Endocrinology is the study of medicine that focuses primarily on glands, whose primary function is hormone secretion. These glands include the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenals, ovaries, testes, and pancreas.
Hormones influence or control a wide range of physiological activities, such as Growth, Food regulation and metabolism, Blood glucose regulation, Bone metabolism, Sexual development and function etc.
Endocrine disorders contribute to some of the major diseases known to mankind which include, Diabetes, Thyroid disorders, Obesity, Short stature, Sexual hormone imbalance, Prolactinoma, PCOD, .
